i.
i am in a room
with a view on three sides
up against a wall
on the other
i hold a
fear of falling
so i
jump
ii.
the hallway
is eternal and deliberate
i am dressed
as an admiral
decorated
i wear slacks navy blue
i cannot
swim
iii.
there is a
woman, she walks
past me
nods her head
she conveys a message
i am sworn
to keep
righteously unraveled
iv.
time stops
its march forward
its face looks
to me for help, i have
forgotten
how to get home
i go to my
room

Hate to play baseball in their yard. My first thought was this is a nun in a convent of some sort.

I had no second thought except to admire your dreams, imagination, and inspired wordings. REALLY!
thanks Steve...the dream world is such a great place to visit...will be going back there in very soon...bkm
ReplyDeleteBarbara,
ReplyDeleteI really like this abruptness, the surrealism!
Trulyfool
yeah i was feeling the dream nature...what does it mean perhaps that is for you only...nice detail though...
ReplyDeleteI like the dream quality, and waking life is like that sometimes. I really like that the face of "time" looks to you for help! That is very nice!
ReplyDeleteReading your poem made me remember how I felt while watching Inception. Vivid descriptions, hazy feeling.
ReplyDeleteMade me visualize Hotel California.
ReplyDeleteI want a room with windows like that...
ReplyDeleteYou have written with such a light surrealistic touch, which invited us to picture the world from a slightly skewed angle...Thank you for that.
I love the cool room of windows! Loved the poem too, especially the final stanza.
ReplyDeleteI felt this as a madhouse... Where they have given you so many pills you have forgotten who you really are.... or altzeimer (')
ReplyDeleteAnyway- it's brilliant, BKM
:-)
To me, I felt that this persona was living dual realities - one she sees and she she feels! The one she sees may exist but she tends to cast it aside as of no place in her feeling world! A fascinating sense of perspectives of one condition!
ReplyDeletenice - you really nailed the tone for this one..good one bkm.
