bleeding

i have
sold lost letters
on the black
market

pawned
words for a second
cup of coffee

it is
hard times
when you go
crawling, it is hard times
when you take to
genuflecting
and vampire
killing

for there
is something sacred
in bleeding
especially
ink

  1. nice...love that last stanza....trading words for coffee...if they would take mine that would be a steal for me...smiles...it is desperate times...and i know a few vampires needing staking...smiles.

  2. Funny...I read that word (4th line up from bottom) as 'sacred'. Twice! Maybe because I am not scared?

I'd give you all the coffee you desired, without your words. Because i KNOW the words would be coming around sooner or later!

And, Barbara, I apologize for this--but I am still 'hooked' on words from last week:

    "..."...carry what
    was tomorrow wrapped as today
    in a velvet blue sky..."

    Exquisite!

  7. Came over from Glynn's. I really like this poem. A whole new spin on the old "open a vein and bleed" advice.

  8. Yes, something sacred. Lovely to visit and take in a few of your poems.
