DeleteI have to say ditto to Brian... that part really jumped out at me, although the whole piece is amazing.
ReplyDeletethank you Laurie - much appreciate your words .....bkm
DeleteGreat thread of poetic thought and presentation. The beneath portal stanza read as my fav. But it is all top notch, as you always are. One of my favorite living poets.
ReplyDeleteHenry - you humble me and always look forward to your comments ...thank you for your words...bkm
DeleteThis is truly beautiful as an expression of the pain on the other side of man's warring, non-nurturing nature. But one does not have to battle, one only has to align the (thunderbird) wings.
ReplyDeleteI do believe the feeling is so strong now because things are changing.
P.S. - I subscribe to your beautiful poems but I think it's way-past-time to put you on my blogroll!
thank you Bill I am happy to have met you here in blogland and appreciate so much your words...thanks also for addition to your listing..bkm
DeleteVery intense portrait if alienation with hints of the pressure of fate and Paradise Lost for us all--the internal rhyme is stellar.
ReplyDeletethank you Joy - you are a Master storyteller and so appreciate your words...bkm
DeleteYour poems always take me longer to read because there is always so much to absorb, so much to understand, and not just the surface. Here you weave religious symbology and with a personal expressionism, exploring pain, and the potential for redemption.
ReplyDeleteSam I appreciate your feedback more then I can say. I do believe in art- writing or otherwise we have to pull from our internal hell and heaven life is beauty and chaos eternally new. Thank you my friend... bkm.
DeleteThis is the heart for me:

hear voices - when syllables divide
I agree with Henry Clemmons, you're one of my favorite living poets.
you are one of my favorite people...thank you..bkm
Deletei like can god hear the choir when the syllables divide. it's what music is all about, taking the vowels and stretching them out, turning words into beats beyond their natural beat. cool line.
