unattended

historically, i have
left myself unattended
rating decades
of decadence always underestimated

one's will
or experiment, can never
make time their
own

a Capote
can not be founded by default
an imitation of life
proves false positive - historically

a photograph
is a timed capsule still born
and souled, a separate
evidence

of unrepeatable
reality

  1. it is the unrepeatable reality line that got me...often we can look back at those pictures and pine about how life was...but it is a time we can never go back to...

  3. Thank God for imaginations, mind sight, and superb writers like you. I really liked this. Sometimes a photo is as close as we can get on the surface.

  7. The first stanza could stand alone. It has a depth of meaning and understanding in it terseness, that might take another poet a ream of paper to say. I love the oblique way you "cut in" to your subjects, always unique, your style, your voice. I, like Claudia, admire the "time capsule-still born". Sublime.

  9. An authentic and original voice. I love your economy of langauge and intensely intiguing imagery. Perfect photo too. A very accomplished poem.
