it is the unrepeatable reality line that got me...often we can look back at those pictures and pine about how life was...but it is a time we can never go back to...
ReplyDeletewe can not go back or to places and time we have never been too...bkm
DeleteI love the opening stanza:
ReplyDelete"historically, i have

Thanks Rosemary - it was a great thought to start off with...thanks again...bkm
DeleteThank God for imaginations, mind sight, and superb writers like you. I really liked this. Sometimes a photo is as close as we can get on the surface.
ReplyDeletethank you Henry...true - as close as we can get...bkm
ReplyDeletea photograph
ReplyDeleteis a timed capsule still born...this is awesome...i like your walk on the lines here..
Thank you Claudia....a photo of a stilled time frame is an amazing concept....bkm
ReplyDeleteThe first stanza could stand alone. It has a depth of meaning and understanding in it terseness, that might take another poet a ream of paper to say. I love the oblique way you "cut in" to your subjects, always unique, your style, your voice. I, like Claudia, admire the "time capsule-still born". Sublime.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Gay - I really appreciate your feedback and take it to heart...bkm
ReplyDeleteAn authentic and original voice. I love your economy of langauge and intensely intiguing imagery. Perfect photo too. A very accomplished poem.
ReplyDeleteThe last lines are just amazing. You've captured a pain I've often felt.
