glass weeps

the face
or phases of a world
imitates life

a branched elm or
elderberry is not alone
in duplication
of the cosmos--press thought
to leaf, page to pen
inked, blotted

that
glass weeps to center
sanctifies
water dies still

  1. i like that this part feels a bit backwards

    press thought
    to leaf, page to pen
    inked, blotted

and water dies is an interesting thought too...

  2. Very thought-provoking poem, Barbara. I agree with Brian about your line "water dies still"; your use of the word "still" has several possible meanings there.
