I make for rain a window
against a grey blue sky - and wave
to every rain drop singing to the wind
each so pleasured in their purpose
so posed to dance upon a pond
with daffodil delighting that spring has come along
Who knows the better of it
as crystal-ed ice draws in - and sighs to wren and robin
"come let new life begin"
and I take too - this sweet blessing
of God, of Grace, of Land - while sitting
beside a window in view of His Great Hand

I enjoyed the first image and the rhythm here, Barbara.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gordon...I now I could take this in different directions...or the first stanza could probably stand on is own...bkm
ReplyDeleteBautiful rhythms bkm. That image works its magic as well.
ReplyDeleteI adore this. That first line is just awesome.
ReplyDeletesmiles...ilove a good spring rain...reason to go out and dance...
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing in it.
ReplyDeleteSigh! Very delicate and delightful, it reminded me of Emily Dickenson's poetry. The photo went well with it -- set a dreamy quality of anticipation of spring.

I love poems which are paeans as well as prayers. The devotional participation in the moment summons the sublime. And whether we believe in it or not, the feeling of grace comes through regardless in the words at the end. Nice. -- Brendan
ReplyDeleteI loved the voice, the rhythm of your words. It has a lovely, quiet message of beauty, like when graceful rain falls. I loved the photo you used and the images you brought to mind; Wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved it~
Oh this is so beautiful and lyrical. The rhythm flows so sweetly. And I love all of the images, the raindrops singing to the wind, and dancng on the pond. Joyous, and very lovely.
ReplyDeleteBarbara,
ReplyDeleteRain moves me. Spring rain has always 'made me new'. This resonates. Thank you!
