incomplete decades
i have never been one
for group therapy
or sought a totem
that runs with a pack
choosing instead to observe
current movement from afar; seeking
out an uninhabited cave
of sapien that awaits its rightful place
on evolutions timeline
it is experimenting with fire
that excites my senses... my pen
consuming its sacred
ash, conceiving inscription
of solitude magnified by the night sky,
its beasts,
its battleground,
its damnation - hidden in calender
and quatrain
i find comfort
in discovery, self-fashioned
tooling and uneven beads
strung together in incomplete
decades, promising
salvation from a god
of my own
creation
