Morning Coffee

You sat with your black coffee
I my morning tea,
and when you looked at me
I could taste young marigold honey,
though there was none on the table

You spoke that word - "forever"
I said "Yes", that I would have the time
and am able
to go on sharing morning coffee,
and any tastes of honey
but here - there was none on the table..

  2. The quiet surrender, the word play is dynamic coupled with the photography makes the whole piece one gorgeous read.

  6. That's odd...this appeared on my blog list a day or so ago, but when I tried to see it, it wasn't there. Now it is. Oh well.

This has the feel of something from decades ago. Maybe it is the accompanying picture, but I think it is more than that. I really like it.

  14. A lovely image-- the surprise of the taste. But I can't tell if it is disappointment or satisfaction at the end...

Sometimes, certain words said at a certain time, in a certain mood, do indeed have a "certain" lingering effect.. :)
