yellow river

i rest my head on yellow river
string two hearts apart
denied of pleasure i seek trees
their branches brown and dark

i fall as water on the stone
make my heart a bed of rock
tethered sun melts all thought
and need of mercies made

grass to branch
stone to moss, river to a rivers edge

to rest my head on yellow river
i string two hearts                           apart

  3. I'm feeling a tragic parting here with those separate hearts and "I fall as water on the stone, make my heart a bed of rock"...sounds desolate and lonely.

  5. The thought of hearts apart sounds like it's hard to mend.

  6. Lovely the sensibility of this and your voice is fresh and inventive too - "tethered sun melts all thought
and need of mercies made..." I especially liked this

  8. I can sense the loneliness of the separated hearts that need a place to sleep for the night but not together.
