substance

i live in blank space
and a rumor unheard
the sound of vision
permeating thought

who? at the door
what? fell past

to have a self miss
substance

you stand (my last life)
pulse points without meaning

there is a cracking
of quartz  -
one bone aches

and a child

walks...

I'm sensing a "becoming" of sorts especially with the child walking at the end. And what does that mean "(my last life)"...I'm mystified.

  3. My last life...we all have times in our past that are like past lives...love the cracking of quartz and the vision of the child walking.

  8. Makes me remember the old question about what is substance and what is shadow.

  9. For the poet to keep writing, there must always be new found ground -- but to even name it, so much has to be remitted, forgiven, casketed ... revised. This is so finely spare, allowing a ledge for the child to crawl around into new light. Haven't read you in a while, so I can't say how this compares or relates, but after a year or so it seems finely fresh. Hope you've been well.
