i have grafted paper
to skin, recorded your touch
between each sheet
shedding and shelving remain
uncommon and puliztered - "who
goes there?"
an old woman gathers
in clothes line, places each
pin into proper perspective, wringing
hands threadbare
below the streets pool wet, words
remain shrouded (lost prophecies) hidden
beneath open umbrellas, behind beveled
glass windows - a carol
rises up, the old woman echoes "Glor...roi..a, in excelsis deo"
i re-read your touch, decipher
your memory, the madness in new
wine skins
the bell tower listens...

ReplyDeleteI like the
ReplyDelete"below the streets pool wet,"
And the revisiting of memory at the end
Where the weight of the bell tower sits silently
the first stanza pulled me in and the rest kept me captivated...great imagery

You have intrigued me with the elusive quality of he presence that elicits these very charming words. I like the way you interweave the events together.
