skimmed over

i skimmed over
my morning coffee landing on the headlines
(Job)less rates up
a tattooed Europe getting edgy,
despondent, just a bit of

catching up with current - after hooking up
with classmates from
a recently removed century - we discussed
its passing, passing into
those who have all ready
been taken, now

all is (old) news
and this once hot cup is getting colder
along with a dead King - i feel need to
locate a Starbuck's on my iPhone
order a
Caffe' Americano - as i

reverse, reflect and recycle pages....

  4. Lovely poem...I loved the 'tattooed Europe' as well. I guess what is happening now has happened before. (Also loved the photo of that 'hooking up with classmates') :)

  17. Life flies by so quickly doesn't it? You glance away for a moment and suddenly you're the older, the greyer, the has been. At least that's how I feel! Once your friends have grandchildren and you have friends beginning to die, it's a wierd trip. You've captured this well here.

  19. What makes your poetry distinctive, uniquely yours is that it falls between the words, and is tied up in small details. Excellent.
