time out, I can live with that
a solid place to stand or sit, (no matter)
a place to reflect
on the accents of lovers past
place them accordingly
into the proper chamber of my heart
as any quest should receive the most cherished
of attentions
a sip of Merlot, a sip of sun
place (time out) where
bathing the thoughts of a younger day
and rest upon foreign shores tasted
so softly salted
so sweetly misted in a time
called never ending....

Such a lovely, wistful moment that allows a look back on all the loves which built a heart into what it sustains and furthers today. (And still mayhems, though I'll venture to a quieter degree than in the past.) Such a resonant meditation, remembering all the singular magnitudes of love. - Brendan
ReplyDeletenice! i like the idea of reflecting on the accents of lovers past. hmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is but the best! Thinking of "time out" just a little differently, not that old "time out" of children, but a "time out" for big people, that "tasted so softly salted." Thank you for your beautiful selection and combinations of words!
ReplyDeletein a time called never ending...nice...you create a peaceful and meaningful place in that time out
ReplyDeleteI love the phrase 'a sip of sun' (to go with the other sort).
