Writer's Grail Quest

Words opening windows
where the soul takes flight
like Wendy trusting Peter
exiting into night

There freedom finds the writer
and not so holy ghost
upon a course of travel –
qualified as quest; And the

Percival you thought you were
comes face to face
no less -
with a clock – in a crock -
in a place called
Neverland at best

The Grail so coveted
so lost -
a piece of gold
a cup unfilled –

Stands silently
on a Captains plank
unreachable by hook alone -
unthinkable except by heart –

That first
believed in the words -
placed on the paper from the start

  1. Clever, BKM. Reminds me of my Tinkerbelle poem written not long ago... but yours is much more serious. Well done!

  2. I like the illusions to the story of Peter Pan and the thought of words opening windows. Admittedly I don't know anything about Perceal and will have to check that out.

  5. nice that you tied this to the pan and neverland as that is how i often feel when writing...transported myself and reaching back to take the reader with me...

  6. That Grail is illusive indeed, fleeting, at the least. I think I have found it just to get words on the paper sometimes. This is a well written piece of poetry, an insightful take on writing in my mind.
    Cheers!

  10. Very nice, BKM. This piece teased and delighted with images of Peter Pan interwoven with the writing process. I love it. Thanks for sharing.
