A Marriage of Hemsipheres

we come from separate hemispheres
you and I,
I viewing the world as diluted watercolor
you a ledger in balance --

out of balance is where we find commitment
meeting congenially under sheets of a finer texture
you marking as payment of debt incurred
I as a stain on canvass

still the world revolves;
uncaring

  2. bkm this was wonderful and hit home. Similar to your poem we joke in my house that I am a cloud and my misses the dirt that keeps me grounded. The story goes much further but I connected to this instantly. She is the ledger and I the watercolor. I may have to show this to her just prove we are not the only ones lol. Thank you for sharing.

  5. Dear bkm: Beautiful! An Artist personality versus the business personae. "Out of balance" is wonderful word play. Clearly the universe does not care. Points well taken. Bravo!

  9. Oh. This is layered, and thought-provoking and what impresses me especially is that you've done all you've done here in so short a space.

    Interesting that, later, you've written about yin and yang. I look forward to more. I hope that you won't mind if I add you to my bog list at Word Garden.
