i give thanks
in sepia, you in black
seasoned
construction for the ungrateful
on
plum blue days
we tend unrecognized by
design, clouds of
feathers full that
fill my heart, i sleep there
would you too
sleep? .. there?
but.. what haste? summons the bells
fed with furry, the porridge
of Adam, the sins
and the gravy
taste soon a season
gone shadowed
to dark - as i give thanks
in sepia
and you
in black

ReplyDeleteWell now, here's an original and intriguingly written departure from the usual Thanksgiving blog post stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love the "plum blue days" and "the porridge of Adam, the sins of the gravy" and just the whole color duality you built the poem on.
