Two Doors

the peace, the contentment we seemingly seek
is not usually the contentment that we desire
two doors stand, left and right spaced one from other
locked - separate keys chained together

a shaded window weeps
when opened to the world, and the river
flows uncontrolled searching for rest, a solace
between mind and heart,
soul and self,  lasting a time
or the now, in the center
of two doors...locked - and blame
is placed at the window

  10. So much said in so few lines. Doors, window, chains, river (reflection of?): mind/heart, soul/self. Yes, this is one to chew over slowly, again and again. Thank you.

  14. this made me feel connected spiritually...I recognize these words but their meaning is deeper than what my intellect can comprehend. My soul understood, I know, but my mind cannot seem to grasp it. In other words, this poem moved me... thanks, bkm.
