Out of Africa

in my veins flow
Africa
in my eyes - i carry the world
the Serengeti lays down before me
and sings of my crown
the Masai suckle from my swollen breast
children of my
flesh

i cry out to the east
the sun rises
i drink from the moon
the world dreams
 Africa....

i weep
and the earth weeps
for
Africa...

  18. Lions have always been a favorite, and Out of Africa on my top 10 movies list. I've listened to the soundtrack so many times, I know it by heart and can see the part of the movie it narrates. My Jake was born while it was playing. So obviously this poem really spoke to me. Very nice.
