silk

one does not
have to join a convent to be a nun
one can experience resurrection
or eternity in the cleaning of a
scarred kitchen sink

lit candle & vespers
are not for the faint of heart
but for the heart
knowing the path
it has drawn

pick up that crucifix
and wipe the blood from your eyes
you will see clearly the portion
of your earthly breath

                                      whispers echo through
                                   the chambered halls of ones
                                                     mind

the rectory is empty now
leaving the re-stringing
                                     of beads
to the fatal silk moths
last ascendance
