i can feel the sky
it's closeness to the bark of me
the circumference
of what lies hidden beneath the melting white
and beneath the bark
there are a few moments of
ice kissing
the awaiting of green
a spring
there is a sense of wonder on the blues to come
by the sand crane
and a winter rabbit still

Oh, this is beautifully earthy, Barbara, with the bark and ‘moments of ice kissing’, and love the expectation of green and the ‘blues to come’.
ReplyDeleteThe images here are quite sensual. Well might the sand crane and winter rabbit feel the wonder of the kiss.
ReplyDeleteA kissing family here, BK. The kiss goodbye to the "melting white" or is it from the "melting white?" from/to the sand crane and winter Rabbit. Then the animals to green a spring and to the blues when they come. I like the action, happening and to come.

"of what lies hidden beneath the melting white" Love the possibility. A gift soon will come up. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness this is gorgeous!❤️ I love "a few moments of ice kissing the awaiting of green
ReplyDeletea spring."
Lately a voice from the past has visited my comments! So nice to reconnect with you, bkm. Being from a northern clime myself, this speaks to me. And I especially like the final stand-alone "still" which can, of course, be taken different ways. (Spring really is arriving now, isn't it? ISN'T it????)
ReplyDeleteI love the image of the ice kissing. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe sand cranes winter here, in New Mexico. Such wondrful creatures!! We saw them in great numbers twice flying overhead, perhaps they will be coming to you soon. That is three times, all memorable, twice flying, and once spending the night on the ground. The first time, was on the coast of Texas, and now in the mountains of New Mexico.
ReplyDeleteMagic! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely delightful...thank you!
