concert and casserole

the concert
left me baffled
and misunderstood
sitting in silent terms
of confinement and quandary

thought who
eats casserole for dinner
and melts fingerprints
to cigarette
i checked my lip for words
kissed closed

thought more room
for shapes and meatloaf plates
thought what about
a piece of Swiss
with the absence of rice paper
memory

then...

time to say goodbye
Bocelli and Brighton both warn
of change
and changelings present

thought
its time.... i'll leave one
more fingerprint
then pull out all stops and give the
left over fondue a good go

  2. Martin's a member at Poets United, Barbara. I am late getting to you, happy to see you in the Pantry!! Yes, I was impressed with Bocelli and Brighton, too. Smiles. An interesting set of musings, between concerts and casseroles!

  3. I really like the images you paint... the whole poem is full of those fingerprints... we do leave a trail where we have been don't we?

  4. Such an intersting take...a sorting of confusion. Casseroles and concerts...food and music, such pleasure.

  5. You have woven the diction of casserole and concert in a most unusual way. Such an interesting reading experience.
